Beer Barrel Saloon
Pat Dailey
The Great Lakes
troubadour,
Pat Dailey
appeared nearly
every summer weekend at
The Beer Barrel Saloons,
which features the world's longest bar
and three live
Web Cams,
Inside, the bar snakes its
way into the record books.
The sight, sound and light technicians provide quite the big show.
Super-large video screens show close-ups and all of the stage action.
On the stage, girls compete for recognition and fun by
balancing
cans and cups-full of beer on their heads and by getting down
on their knees and acting as flat-headed beer-holders. Sometimes
flashers poke fun at the whooping crowd of
late
night revelers.
The cover charge at the Barrel is modest, with no entry fee after 11.
Outside, lighted neon palm trees overlook the island's street
parties.
When cold weather comes, Pat high-tails it south to
play in warmer
climes, like Key West's
Sloppy Joe's Bar.
Throughout the winter he
returns from time to time to northern cities like
Toledo and Detroit
for one-nighter's at larger, much more luxurious and exclusive venues.
