Michael's Bar
and Grill
Michael's is located at the corner
of Monroe and Michigan streets
on the bay in Toledo,
Ohio. All sorts of customers come here for
eats and drinks. You could see
the mayor eating breakfast
next to a
cross-country voyager from the Greyhound
station down the street.
A
hooker might be chatting-it-up with a rabbi or a priest. Cops
and robbers sit side-by-side-- the affluent and the indifferent--
a mixture of society's ageless children.
On the
juke box Johnny
Cash's Ring of Fire is a staple along with Dean Martin's Amore.
Lunchtime is busy. Koula's chicken-rice soup and the chili-mac are
daily
favorites. Michael, George, Monny, John, Cinda, John, Lloyd and
the rest of the team are always hustling, serving-up
lunch.
It's a place
where everybody knows your name. Some evenings, when the pace is
slower, George may become the resident
philosopher-comedian.
