 California Coasting 2006
Stealing a glass of wine from a cask is easy for Gus and Bobbie
at the
Maurice Car'rie Winery. They do it with a glass-suction instrument--
a wine thief. For a unusual taste  try the pineapple Champagne.
Joseph dispenses commemorative casino-like chips at the new
Wiens Winery complex where his estate merlot gets rave reviews.
Along with the wine-related paraphernalia at the VR La Cerza
Winery, Karen steers us to some old wine artifacts and an ancient
photograph showing us that even cowgirls liked to have fun.
Southeast of Temecula, on route 76 is the Pala Indian Casino.
With a two-for-one coupon in our hands we enjoy the buffet
at a meager cost of five dollars each. We make our lone
wager upon leaving by sticking our casino card and a
dollar bill into the nickel Tabasco slot near the exit.
We hit the button-- the lights flash, the bells ring.
As our adventure proceeds, we are way ahead.
