Fort Meigs
This fort is at the core of America's military force. Of course,
General Anthony Wayne brought the troops into shape during his
Battle of Fallen Timbers campaign, however, Fort Meigs is the turning
point of all military expansion connected with what we now call America's
armed forces. This fort is instrumental in the election of the President of
the United States, and one of the main reasons that America, or at
least this part of the country is not in Canada.
Ideas to ponder: why is the largest fort on the face of the earth located here?
Why did the fate of the American natives, the British, French, Canadians
and American newcomers rest here at the foot of the Maumee River rapids?
